Masked men rob man on Howard Co. roadside [Crime Log]

The following is compiled from police reports. The Howard County Times includes descriptions of perpetrators only when the description makes identification possible.

West County

Pipes Lane, 13300 block, between 12:05 a.m. and 12:12 a.m. Sept. 12. Victim was driving home from friend's house on Route 100 when he almost struck another vehicle in blind spot. Suspect vehicle followed victim onto northbound Route 29. Victim pulled onto a side street off of Old Frederick Road hoping suspect would pass him, believing he was home. Vehicle pulled up behind him and two men wearing ski masks got out and walked up to car. One masked man had handgun in one hand and flashlight in other. Gunman demanded wallet, two baseball caps shirt, watch and shoes. Victim complied. Men got into car and drove away.

Ellicott City

Baltimore National Pike, 9000 block, between 4:03 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7:59 a.m. Sept. 16. Entry gained to AT&T; store by smashing glass front door with large rock. Cash, four cellphones and two iPads stolen.


Maiden Point Place, 7100 block, 1:32 a.m. Sept. 9. White 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe stolen.

Savage/North Laurel

Gorman Road, 10500 block, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 12. Known suspect contacted victim wanting to fight him. Suspect showed up at victim's house. Called victim and said he was outside and wanted to fight. Suspect beat on victim's front door. Later, the rear slider was discovered shattered. No entry gained.

Bourbon Street, 9100 block, between 11:15 a.m. and 11:53 a.m. Sept. 12. Entry gained to apartment by prying open front door. Bedroom ransacked. Laptop and Blu-ray player stolen. Television and remote moved to front door, but not stolen.
