Classical music The 2013-14 UU Chalice Concert Series opens with a concert for organ, trumpet and voice with Michael Adcock, Jesse Tubb and Henry Gibbons at 8 p.m. at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way in Columbia. Housing fair Howard County Housing hosts its second annual "Housing Matters" mini-fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Howard County Public School Conference Center at the Ascend One Building, 8930 Stanford Blvd. in Columbia. This free event will showcase everything individuals and families need to know about home ownership and renting. Flea market, bake and book sale Christ Episcopal Church's annual event will be held at 9 a.m. at 6800 Oakland Mills Road in Columbia. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, sodas, water and coffee will be available for purchase. Proceeds will be used to support the church's outreach youth services and church goals. Alzheimer's walk A walk to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease will be held Sept. 28 at Centennial Park (south entrance), 10000 Route 108 in Ellicott City. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and participants can enjoy light refreshments, musical entertainment and children's activities. The 3–mile walk kicks off at 10 a.m. Participants can register as teams or individuals. Admission is free, but those who raise at least $100 will receive a "Walk to End Alzheimer's" T-shirt.
