Holiday concert

The Alleluias, an interdenominational Christian choral group, presents the Christmas cantata "Agnus Dei," featuring the music of Michael Smith, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Conference and Retreat Center of Bon Secours, 1525 Marriottsville Road in Marriottsville. 'Holiday Hop'

The Kangaroo Kids Precision Jump Rope Team hosts this annual event Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Glenwood. Shows are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and showcase jumpers of all levels, including a special appearance by "Jumping Santa." Free, nonperishable donations for the Howard County Food Bank are appreciated. The River Hill High School music department presents its 16th annual "Tiny Tots Concert" at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at 12101 Route 108 in Clarksville. This event for preschool- and elementary-age children and provides holiday entertainment as well as an introduction to instruments in the music program. On the way to their seats, the audience will be greeted by Rudolph, Frosty and a host of elves. Every child will receive a goody bag. Admission is $5; one adult admitted free for every 10 children. Senior center

Glenwood Senior Center, 2400 Route 97, Cooksville, offers the following events. Information: 410-313-5440:

Sittercize The hourlong exercise program includes seated aerobics, stretching and strengthening drills, 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $36 for 18 classes.

Fit for Life exercises Participants do aerobics, strength training and abdominal work, 8:20 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. Fridays. $45 for 12 classes.

Painting and drawing A painting and drawing open studio will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays. Bring your own supplies. Free.

Hatha yoga Classes in this Indian system of physical postures and breathing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. $45 for eight classes.

Silver Sneakers Walking Club The group is led by a staff member on an indoor track at 8:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Everyone is invited.

Shoot pool Everyone is invited to shoot pool from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Senior hoops Players are welcome at 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Survivors meet The Glenwood Senior Center sponsors a stroke survivors' "Reading for Life" group at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Discussion will be led by speech pathologist Jennifer Triandafilou. The cost is $40. Information: 410-313-5440.
