'The Paper Show'
An exhibition of works by Lisa Hillring, Virginia Rose Kane and Leora "Lee" Smith that explores the use of paper runs through Monday, May 28, in Tai Sophia Institute's Himmelfarb Gallery, 7750 Montpelier Road in Laurel. "And They're Off!: 100 Years at Laurel Park" Centennial exhibit at the Laurel Museum explores the history and racing highlights at Laurel Park and the track's impact on the community. The National Wildlife Visitor Center is joining with the Conservation & Wildlife Film Festival and Friends of Patuxent to present a once-a-month winter film series through April. Short and feature documentary films will be screened in the morning and afternoon; each session is two hours. This month's screening takes place Saturday, April 9. Fun at the library
A "Picture Book Parade!" for children ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library.
