‘Community Celebration'

Laurel Museum hosts this event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at 817 Main St. Among the scheduled events, visitors can tour the exhibit, "Snapshots in Time: Our Community in 1910 and 2010," and see how Laurel has changed in 100 years. Car show

The Rockburn Open Car Show takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Rockburn Branch Park, 6105 Rockburn Branch Road in Elkridge. Free. Information: 410-313-4624.


The Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Tea and the Arts will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Montpelier Mansion, 9650 Muirkirk Road in Laurel. This year's event features Indian food, cooking and gardening lectures, games, children's activities and artist demonstrations. Admission is free. Information: 301-377-7817.

Instructors needed

The South Laurel Recreation Council needs certified instructors to teach pilates, Zumba and tennis during spring and/or summer classes in the Laurel area. Information: 301-776-2805.

Savage Library fun

A "Picture Book Parade!" for ages 2-5 with an adult will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursdays at the Savage branch of the Howard County Library. The program includes a craft. "Pajama Time," when children may wear pajamas and take teddy bears and blankets, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The branch is at 9525 Durness Lane in Laurel. Information: 410-880-5980.
