Against county buying pool in Joppatowne [letter to The Aegis]

Editor:

I have been reading in The Aegis over the last few weeks about Harford County possibly paying tax payers money to buy a swimming pool in the Joppa area. Why is the county getting into this?

I believe most residents of the area are opposed to it. Taking care of the pool and staffing can get very expensive for county tax payers over the years.

The pool should be private. Oh  that's right this didn't work, so the county should pick up the tab.

There are other projects within the county that will benefit more citizens and are cheaper. Hike and bike trails are healthy and will be used by more county tax payers than a swimming pool.
