Time to celebrate the Fourth on the Sixth in Havre de Grace [Perryville]

Remember Saturday is the Independence Day parade in Havre de Grace, beginning at 2 p.m. on Warren Street and finishing up at Tydings Park. A concert in the park starting at 7 p.m. and fireworks will follow at dusk around 9:15 p.m. Happy Sixth of July!

St. Paul's Lutheran Church dedicated a beautiful Garden of Remembrance and Reflection started as a way to honor Cody Richardson a Perryville High School graduate who passed away in 2011. His parents Libby and Glen came up with the idea and built a tranquil garden of plants and flowers with benches to sit and reflect. A pathway through the garden consists of special engraved bricks given by members of the church in honor of family, friends and loved ones.

Mark your calendar for an Evening Concert with Charlie Zahm along with Fiddler Tad Marks and Guitarist Steve Hobson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen on July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are $10; children under 16 are free.

July 13 is the Diamond in the Rough Triathlon at Perryville Community Park. The race is sanctioned by the USAT. There is an entry fee for participants, but it's free for spectators. Event starts at 8 a.m. and concludes when the last athlete is finished. For more information, contact Neil Semmel at

Joyful Noiz, the contemporary band at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, will be playing at the Aberdeen Festival Park Free Summer Concert on July 23 from 7 – 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair. In the event of inclement weather the performance will be held at the Aberdeen Middle School.

A 20-game bingo is planned to benefit

On July 13, a variety quarter auction is planned at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7 p.m. The event is for by Ray of Hope. Handmade and homemade items, vendors, and gift cards will be offered. Paddles are $2 each. Food and beverage available. Bring a canned good and/or non-perishable for bonus prize ticket.

On July 26, a basket and bag bingo is planned at the Aberdeen Fire Hall on Rogers Street. Doors open at 6 p.m., Early Bird at 6:50 p.m. - Bingo begins at 7 p.m. Sponsored by Bay Country Gentlemen. The 50th anniversary of the Havre de Grace Art Show will be celebrated Friday August 16th from 5 – 9 featuring The Rumba Club a Latin jazz group. Wine and beer will be available for sale. Saturday August 17 & Sunday August 18th from 10 – 5 come out and enjoy arts and crafts, entertainment, food and children's activities.
