Outlook: "We were very young last season and this year, we are even younger," White said. "However, many of the boys committed themselves to the game in the off-season and have made improvements. In order to be successful, we will need to be efficient offensively and disciplined defensively."

Bel Air

Head coach: Scoop Kelly (eighth year)

C. Milton Wright

Head coach: Andrew Gerard (15th year)

2011 record: 7-6

Outlook: Gerard says the Mustangs look to improve on a disappointing 2011 season. "We return a good nucleus of solid players and have some really strong new players. We've been working really hard during the preseason weeks, and seem to be coming together well. We hope to be in contention for Division and League titles, and on into the regional competition," Gerard said.


Head coach: Kenny Porritt (second year)

Outlook: "We have a solid core of underclassmen returning to the team," Porritt said. "We are looking to improve our record from last year as we continue to take steps in the right direction."


Head coach: Matt Parks (10th year)

2011 record: 15-3

Top returning players: Zack Esser, Sr., (defense); Caleb Abney, Sr., (goalie); Marc Badger, Jr., (midfield); Jason Lawrence, Sr., (midfield); Travis Greene, Sr., (midfield); Greg Horsham, Sr., (attack); Sean Lewns, Jr., (defense); Brad Ernst, Sr., (defense); Zack Wheeler, Sr., (midfield)

Key newcomers: NA

Outlook: "We have outstanding defensive personnel returning that will be our strong point this year," Parks said. "Our top two scorers from last year graduated, but we have some talented players that are ready to step into more prominent roles on the offensive end." The Cougars are defending UCBAC champions.

Harford Tech

Head coach: Peter Mezzanotte (first year)

Outlook: "We are preparing to have a great season playing tough defense and an up tempo offense," Mezzanotte said.

Havre de Grace

Head coach: Brooks Brown (fourth year)

2011 record: 8-6

Top returning players: Tyler Coakley, Sr., (defense); Justin Gosnell, Sr. (midfield/attack); Brad Davidson, Jr., (midfield); Austin Sylvester, Jr., (midfield) Tyler Sylvester, Jr., (midfielders); Michael Laubner, Jr., (defense); Ryan Bastian, Sr., (defense)

Key newcomers: Brian Cameron, Jr., (goalie); Chris Anderson, Jr., (midfield/attack); Donald Matts, Jr., (long stick middie)

Outlook: Looking to get better everyday and play as a team is what coach Brown says about this year's team, champions of the Susquehanna Division a year ago. The Warriors lost seven starters from a year ago, six to graduation and one to injury this year. Bastian was lost for the season to a knee injury in a scrimmage with Baltimore Lutheran.


Head coach: Brent Baldwin (fifth year)

2011 record: 5-7

Top returning players: Gage Lobracio, Sr., (defense); Jeremy Clark, Sr., (midfield)

Key newcomers: NA

Outlook: Very, very young as 16 of 22 players are sophomores and freshmen, according to Coach Baldwin.

North Harford

Head coach: John Grubb (35th year)

2011 record: 11-5

Top returning players: Brooks Brown, Jr., (attack); Max Mullin, Jr., (attack); Andrew Siegel, Jr., (midfield); Austin Ensor, Sr., (midfield); Randy Foster, Jr., (midfield); Eric Bonds, Sr., (defense); Brody Dannenfelser, Sr., (defense); TJ Hilton, Sr., (defense); Ryan Latgis, Sr., (midfield)

Key newcomers: Joel Linkous, Sr., (attack); John Heaps, Sr., (attack): Brock Hurley, Jr., (defense); Cameron Brosh, Fr., (goalie)

Outlook: The Hawks were young on offense last year and hope that this experience will generate into a new group of leaders on the offensive end of the field. "Our offensive guys are very unselfish and have worked very well together in our first four scrimmages, Grubb said. "We graduated four of our top defensemen last year so it will be a rebuilding year for us on the other end of the field. We are trying to put the right people in the right positions and hope to bring our defense up to par by our first game."

Patterson Mill

Head coach: Jason Bellamy (fifth year)

2011 record: 12-7

Outlook: The 2011 1A/2A state finalists return an experienced team that made it deep into playoffs last year, but have some key holes to fill, left open by graduation. The schedule is highlighted by tough Chesapeake Division competition and out of conference games vs Winters Mill (at Johns Hopkins) and Lake Forest (Illinois).
