Boys basketball: Edgewood, Patterson Mill tune up for title game with Friday wins

The Edgewood Rams (17-3 overall, 12-0 Chesapeake) wrapped up their upper division schedule with a 63-47 road win over the C. Milton Wright Mustangs (10-9 overall, 7-5 Chesapeake) on Friday.

Troy Anderson and Van Rolle led the Rams in scoring with 12 points apiece, while Detrick Matthews had 10 points in the victory.

Mychal Stefanides had 17 points for CMW, and teammate Will Hazelton had 13 points.

The Rams will take on Patterson Mill for the UCBAC championship Wednesday at Harford Tech. Tipoff is 7 p.m.

Huskies crush Tigers

Patterson Mill (17-2 overall, 14-0 Susquehanna) ended its regular season unbeaten in UCBAC play with a 60-30, home court win over Rising Sun Friday.

Matt Golczewski scored 13 points to pace the Huskies, while Jay Kuhn and Garett Burkhead both had 10 points in the win.

Mariners sink Bobcats

Playing at home on Friday night, the Joppatowne Mariners (15-5 overall, 12-2 Susquehanna) closed out their regular season campaign with a 56-52 win over Bel Air (9-11 overall, 8-6 Susquehanna).

Khalil Gore had 13 points and four steals in the victory, while teammate Matthew Jones had 12 points, five steals and five assists. Lavelle Banks posted eight points and eight rebounds for the Mariners, while Trevon Mosely had eight points and 16 rebounds.

Bel Air's Tyler Norcross had a game-best 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while fellow Bobcat Juwan Singletary had 10 points.
