Downtown Bel Air was awash in purple and black Friday afternoon as a few hundred Ravens fans of all ages descended on Frederick Ward Armory Park for a rally in support of their team.

Temperatures in the 30s and a stiff wind didn't seem to deter the faithful, many of whom were still heading into the small park next to the Bel Air Reckord Armory some 45 minutes after the 4:30 rally kicked off.

"It's damn cold," said Bel Air Town Commissioner Dave Carey, who was accompanied by his two Labs tricked out in their finest Ravens attire. Like most of those in the park, Carey didn't seem to mind.

The rally, sponsored by the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, featured the band Head Rush, whose members didn't appear to miss a beat or a note, in spite of the conditions.

Free popcorn and cocoa were available, and a few vendors of Ravens gear were set up in the park.

Many of the fans came dressed and painted for the occasion and the contest for "best dressed Ravens." A number of families, several with small children, attended together.

The Ravens face the Houston Texans in the divisional round of the AFC championship Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
