The Bush River Community Council will host a public discussion on the master plan for the Bush River communities of Abingdon, Belcamp, Long Bar Harbor, Otter Creek, Perryman and HollyWoods on Monday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Anita Leight Estuary Center, 700 Otter Point Road in Abingdon.
In October, the Harford County Department of Planning and Zoning released an update to the master plan specifically designed for the areas surrounding the Bush River.
This plan will be the guideline for how the county foresees development in the Bush River community for the next 10 years. The plan addresses aspects of the Bush River area including development, traffic, schools and recreation.
Among topics in the master plan are preserving the Bush Declaration site and possibly adding walking trails, public access to the Bush River waterways, watershed improvements, recreational facilities and the Perryman Peninsula.
Details of the Bush River Master Plan can be found in at .
The Dec. 19 Bush River Community Council meeting will also include a crime report from the Harford County Sheriffs Office and a report from County Councilwoman Mary Ann Lisanti on the Bi-Partisan Commission on School Construction. Included in the councilwoman's report will be a discussion on the building conditions at William Paca/Old Post Road Elementary School and the possibility for new school construction.
The Bush River Community Council meets the third Monday of most months and meetings are open to the public.
