Fearless football predictions from Harford County's foremost sports mind

Once again, your favorite pigskin prognosticator was thwarted by a few bum picks and wound up just short of a perfect record in week three. Tonight's games aren't any easier to figure out, but I'm going for the clean sheet, as always. Here we go:

Aberdeen at Joppatowne. Wow, this one should be good. There's five unbeaten football teams in the UCBAC and two of them will meet on the Mariners home field tonight. I'm going with the Eagles high-powered offense to come out on top of this one. The pick: Aberdeen wins, 34-30.

C. Milton Wright at Havre de Grace. Havre de Grace rebounded from a sound week-two beating by Perryville with a victory over Bo Manor last Friday, and I'm thinking the Warriors will make short work of the visiting Mustangs this evening. The pick: Havre de Grace wins, 24-6.

Patterson Mill at Perryville. Another battle of the unbeatens, as the Panthers and Huskies are both sitting pretty at 3-0. As with the Aberdeen vs. Joppatowne matchup, I'm sticking with the offense that's been putting up bigger numbers (Perryville has scored 128 points, Patterson Mill just 39). The pick: Perryville wins, 28-24.

Fallston at Bel Air. Last week, the 3-0 Cougars had to battle back from a big deficit to avoid an upset loss at the hands of Rising Sun, while Bel Air lost by just two points to Patterson Mill. Fallston is the team I'm going with here. The pick: Cougars take it, 34-21.

Edgewood at Elkton. Both teams are still searching for that first win, but I'm putting my money on Edgewood to drop the Elks. The pick: Rams beat Elkton, 27-18.

Harford Tech at Bo Manor. The Cobras have let me down a few times already, and we're not even halfway through this season, but I'll go with them one more time. The pick: Harford Tech wins, 21-19.

Last week's record, 6-2

Shad's all-time record, 1,702-671, 71.7 percent
