Bel Air, CMW, North Harford and HdG pick up boys vball victories

In Monday-night boys volleyball action, the C. Milton Wright, Bel Air, Patterson Mill and Havre de Grace squads picked up early-season match victories.

In the match pitting Bel Air against the host-team Harford Tech Cobras, it was the visiting Bobcats who came away with a shutout win.

The Bobcats won the first match 25-20, took the second 26-24, then wrapped things up with a 25-19 win.

Tyler Norcross had 10 aces and nine kills to lead Bel Air in both categories. Kyle Johnson posted a match-best 20 assists, three kills and two aces in the victory. James Scherba had six kills and two blocks for the Bobcats.

Mustangs cruise to win

C. Milton Wright won its Monday contest, topping the visiting Fallston Cougars 3-0.

The Mustangs took the games by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-20.

CMW's Ryan Walsh had seven kills, seven service points, three assists and one solo block. Chris Panzeri helped the winners out with seven service points, three aces, one block and a team-best 13 kills. Justin Pezzela led the Mustangs with 20 assists, while also putting up three service points and one block.

Hawks over Huskies

The North Harford boys won going away on Monday, beating host-team Patterson Mill three games to one.

The Huskies won the first match, 25-23, but the Hawks rallied to take the next three in succession, winning with scores of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-11.

Warriors win whitewash

The Havre de Grace Warriors got off to a good start in their season opener on Monday, dropping the visiting Aberdeen Eagles in three straight games.
