Anniversary: Torrisis celebrate 50th

Salvatore and Cecilia Waszkiewicz Torrisi celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 24.

They were born in New Jersey, but settled in Bel Air, in October 1973. Sal attended public schools in Newark, N.J. and graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering from NJIT. He worked for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook, N.J. for several years and was a civilian for the Army in Dover, N.J. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 30 years until his retirement.

Cecilia was born in Bayonne, NJ attending both Catholic and public schools graduating with a teaching degree from NJSU in Jersey City, NJ. She worked in the Morris County Public Schools in NJ and retired from the Harford County Public School System.

Sal and Cecilia raised two children, and are the grandparents of four grandchildren. In retirement, they've kept active in their parish, St. Margaret Catholic Church in Bel Air.
