Elmer Stephens "Mickey" Cochran was born in Fallston on June 24, 1911, so today will be his 100th birthday, a milestone he will celebrate with members of his family at his daughter's home in Baltimore County.

One of 12 children born to the late Anthony and Catherine Cochran, Elmer Cochran is a retired farmer who worked for E.S. Voss in Monkton and also had his own farm near the Hillendale Country Club, according to his nephew, Charles "Chuggy" Cochran, who lives in Baltimore and also spends considerable time at a property he owns off of Hess Road in Fallston.

Charles Cochran said his uncle, who is also his godfather, is an avid Orioles fan and will be getting an Orioles-themed present at the party the family is having Saturday afternoon.

He said Mickey Cochran has some trouble getting around and uses a walker, but is extremely sharp for a man turning 100.

Mickey Cochran and his wife, Catherine Miller Cochran, who died in 2000, had three daughters and a son, the latter who is a dairy farmer in northern Pennsylvania. They also had 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren
