The second annual Harford County Restaurant Week, sponsored by the Harford County Office of Economic Development's Office of Tourism, is June 9 to 15.

Participating restaurants throughout Harford County are offering prix fixe (price fixed) menus consisting of three-course meals for $20.11 (or less), plus tax, beverage and gratuity.

Limited service restaurants or restaurants with a lower price point are offering other special values, according to the county.

In addition, anyone wishing to be eligible to win $1,000 worth of dining should have dinner at a participating restaurant during Restaurant Week and fill out a dining card entry form. The restaurants collect the entry cards and return them to the Office of Tourism, where they are collected for the grand prize drawing.

The winner of the $1,000 worth of dining will be selected in a random drawing. Each of the participating restaurants donates a $25 dining gift card to participate in the Restaurant Week promotion.

According to a county press release, Harford County's first Restaurant Week was a success for the participating restaurants.

More than 40 restaurants participated during last year's event, with most restaurants experiencing an increase of 10 to 15 percent in their dining customers during that week.

The grand prize winners from last year's drawing were Bob and Ellen Pettibone of Bel Air, who received their gift cards at the Olive Tree in Aberdeen from Harford County Executive David R. Craig and Tourism and Marketing Manager Wini Roche.

The Olive Tree and its staff members were also recognized with a commemorative plate as the busiest restaurant during Restaurant Week 2010.
