A 14-year-old girl is in serious condition after a stabbing Sunday afternoon in Edgewood.
The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Edgewood Drive, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police said the girl was stabbed once by her 12-year-old sister.
The younger sister has been charged as a juvenile with first- and second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, according to Cristie Kahler, spokesperson for the sheriff's office.
The girl was transported to Johns Hopkins Childrens Center in serious condition, and the sheriff's office is investigating, according to the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. Her injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening, Kahler said, and she was in stable condition late Sunday night.
