Harford County resident Merrill A. Messick III has been elected vice president and treasurer of Marshall Craft Associates, the board of directors announced.
His election was effective Jan. 1. Also elected were Stephen A. Bates AIA , president; and Michelle S. Hooper AIA, vice president corporate. Founding officers Linton S. Marshall III, Michael S. Craft and Sherrie L. Kormann remain active principals with the firm, contributing technical and practice management expertise. Founded in 1986, Marshall Craft Associates is an award-winning architecture, planning and interior design firm with offices in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Design Intelligence has ranked MCA as one of North America's Top 200 Design Firms and the Baltimore Business Journal has consistently ranked MCA as one of the area's largest firms for more than 15 consecutive years.
Messick is a 1983 graduate of the College of Architecture at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He has more than three decades of experience in successful project and design firm management. He is responsible for the implementation of quality control systems, as well as management of short and long range financial planning.
