Thanks to all who participated in Oak Grove Baptist's Women's Conference [Letter]

The Aegis

Thank you, Harford County, for joining Oak Grove Baptist Church in our annual Women's Conference held on March 24. With about 140 in attendance, we were attentive to all best-selling author, Dani Pettrey, had to share with us about, “Why God Keeps Us in Suspense.”

Praised by New York Times best-selling author Dee Henderson as “a name to look for in romantic suspense,” as well as USA Today and Publishers Weekly, Dani reminded us to regularly be reading the Bible so we would know God’s truth for our lives.

Dani Pettrey has written eight novels which have sold more than 300,000 copies. Dani’s adventure-focused Alaskan Courage series climbed the CBA bestseller lists, with Submerged staying in the top twenty for five consecutive months. The five-book series also won multiple awards. More recently, she turned her attention to crime and law enforcement in her home state of Maryland in her new Chesapeake Courage series, starting with Cold Shot.

Through humor and recounting of poignant health scares, Dani reminded us that God continually protects us, prepares us, and provides for us. His providence leads us through trying times when we wonder what is going on. Dani instructed us to have a time of daily prayer and meditation, to embrace God’s grace, to have a grateful heart, and look for ways to serve and help one another.

In addition to our speaker, the conference was highlighted with music by Tina Testerman along with Lindsey Lewandowski and the Oak Grove praise band. Recently married, Tina has been singing for nine years and considers it a gift from the Lord! She loves singing Christian music. Even at work, she loves to sing to her patients in the ICU.

Worship music is what Lindsey Lewandowski likes to sing. She has been singing in church since she was young. By profession, Lindsey is a French teacher and she loves her students and spending time teaching and mentoring them.

Special thanks goes to Henry Jones of Old Line Grill for providing the most delicious, individually boxed lunches.

Our conferences allow women an unhurried time in fellowship each year – so please join us next year on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 2106 Churchville Road, Bel Air.
