Edgewood liquor store robbed on July 4; report made two days later

A man robbed an Edgewood liquor store on Independence Day, although the store did not file the report for two days, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to Edgewood Liquors Grocery & Deli, in the 2200 block of Philadelphia Road, at 11:30 a.m., Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said Monday.

The owner told police that on July 4, at about 11:30 a.m., an employee was robbed at gunpoint, Hopkins said.

The robber, described as a white man, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall who was wearing a black shirt and black pants, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded money, Hopkins said.

The robber received an unknown amount of cash from the register and ran toward Shannon Road.

No explanation was given as to the delay in reporting, Hopkins said.
