Man dies in hospital after Baltimore shooting

A man died in the hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach in North Baltimore late Sunday night, while police confirmed that a 14-year-old was hit by a stray bullet while sitting on a porch in Northeast Baltimore earlier in the night.

Officers on patrol in the 500 block of Sheridan Ave., just off York Road, were flagged down shortly before midnight to respond to the shooting, police said. They found a man who had been shot lying on the ground, according to police.

The victim died in the hospital and was pronounced dead at shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, according to police. The man was identified as Keith Allan Laboard of the 4300 Block of Berger Ave.

Police said that earlier in the night, two people were also shot in the 4100 block of Eierman Ave. Investigators believe that a 24-year-old man was walking in the block when a suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting at him. He ran to escape and was shot in the arm.

A 14-year-old sitting on a nearby porch was also struck in the arm by an apparent stray bullet, police said. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Police believe the shooter may have been trying to rob the 24-year-old victim, who was listed in stable condition Monday morning, police said.
