Police blotter: Robberies for the week of July 26

Reported robberies in Baltimore for the week ending July 26 rose 11 percent compared with the previous week, according to statistics posted by the city.

The incidents include the previously disclosed hold-up of the Harbor East Whole Foods store, as well as another commercial hold-up in the 600 block of E. Pratt St. in the Inner Harbor. There were four robberies reported in Canton and four in Central Park Heights, while data show three people were held up at gunpoint in a single incident in Woodbourne Heights.

Here's the rundown from the Police Department's weekly Comstat data:

-There were 59 robberies reported across the city between July 20 and July 26. That was up from 53 reported by police the previous week. 

-12 of the robberies were stick-ups of businesses, while 43 occurred on the street. There were four home invasions.

-The Southeastern District had the most reported robberies, with 10 reported that week. The Northeastern District, the city's largest, had nine, while the Northern District had eight. The Eastern District had the fewest, with just one reported robbery.

A sampling of the incidents posted to OpenBaltimore (detailed accounting not available):

-Three people were robbed at gunpoint on July 20 at 10:25 p.m. in the 5400 block of Loch Raven Blvd. in Woodbourne Heights.

-A business was held up at gunpoint in the 2500 block of Greenmount Avenue at 2:15 a.m. on July 21.

-A street robbery occurred in the 3300 block of W. North Ave. in Walbrook, at 10:30 p.m. on July 21. Fifteen minutes later, another robbery at gunpoint occurred in the unit block of S. Monastery Ave. in Allendale.

-Two people were robbed at knifeponit at 7:30 a.m. on July 22 in the 3200 block of Fleet St., in Canton. The day before, at 9:15 p.m., a business was held up in the 2800 block of Foster Ave., also in Canton.

-A business in the 700 block of South Broadway, in Fells Point, was robbed on July 23 at 12:27 a.m.

-Two people were held up at gunpoint in the 4800 block of Reisterstown Rd. in Central Park Heights at 2:40 a.m. on July 24.

-A business in the 600 block of E. Pratt St. in the Inner Harbor was robbed at gunpoint at 7:18 p.m. on July 24.

-A street robbery was reported in the 2400 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway, between Mondawmin Mall and Frederick Douglass High School on July 24 at 6:45 p.m.

-A street robbery was reported in the 200 block of E. University Parkway in Charles Village on July 25 at 3 a.m.

-Two people were robbed at gunpoint on July 25 at 4:10 p.m. in the 4600 block of Edmondson Ave., which is the same block as a shopping center in the Uplands neighborhood.

-A business in Federal Hill, located in the 1100 block of Light St., was robbed on July 25 at 5:15 p.m. The weapon used is listed as "other."
