Women suspected in Glen Burnie, Essex bank robberies

A group of women has been charged in connection with a Baltimore County bank robbery, while police in Anne Arundel County said they suspect a woman in a green baseball cap in a separate bank heist there.

Alexis Chandler, 19, Czekiah Fludd, 24, and Ashley Fitz, 22, have been charged in connection with a robbery at the Baltimore County Savings Bank in the 500 block of Eastern Boulevard, police said Saturday.

The robbery happened Friday afternoon. Chandler and Fitz went into the bank and gave a teller a note implying they had a bomb, police said. The teller handed over some money and they fled in a vehicle with Fludd, but were caught by some officers nearby, police said.

Fitz has also been charged in connection with a similar robbery at a branch of the First Mariner Bank in the 4800 block of Painters Mill Road that happened Thursday. All three women are being held at the Baltimore County Dentention Center on $350,000 bonds.

Meanwhile, a woman wearing a green baseball cap robbed a Bank of Glen Burnie Branch Saturday morning, Anne Arundel County Police said.

Employees at the bank told officers that the woman came in, went up to the teller and passed a note to demand money, according to police. Some money was handed over to the robber, police said, and she fled the bank, which is on Crain Highway North, and went down 1st Avenue SW.

In addition to the cap, police describe the woman as wearing a gray and black jacket and jeans. She is approximately 40 or 50 years old and has long hair pulled back into a pony tail, police said.
