Man who threatened President Trump is spotted in Maryland

CUMBERLAND, MD — A man who allegedly threatened to shoot President Donald Trump may have been spotted in Cumberland over the weekend, according to the FBI.

An FBI spokesman said Monday evening that a multi-agency manhunt — involving federal, state and local authorities — is underway for Shawn Christy of McAdoo, Pa.

He is believed to be driving a stolen 1997 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Pennsylvania tags, license plate “ZGL-2845,” officials said.

Christy was indicted by a federal grand jury last month for threatening to harm Trump and law enforcement officers.

According to the indictment, Christy, 27, posted threats on Facebook in June saying that he was going to shoot Trump in the head, and was going to use “lethal force” on law enforcement officials who attempted to detain him.

Christy is considered armed and dangerous. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports he is a “self-styled survivalist” and that in 2010, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took out a restraining order against him after he threatened to sexually assault her.
