Laurel man arrested, charged with hitting man in head with chair, killing him

Laurel police have arrested and charged a 48-year-old man with murder in connection with the June killing of another man.

Maury Wayne Harris, of Laurel, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of 47-year-old Sik Kim, according to the Laurel Police Department.

Police said Harris hit Kim in the head with a chair during a fight June 4. Kim was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and died June 14 due to complications from his head injuries, police said.

Harris was arrested Thursday at his home, and he is being held without bond, according to police. No attorney information was available in online records.
