Baltimore County Police have charged two suspects in connection with a shooting in Parkville on Monday that left a man injured.

Shyheim Alshameek McCoy, 18, of the 2400 block of Perring Manor Road, and Andre Malik Dukes, 21, of the 1200 block of Halstead Road, both in Parkville, have been charged with attempted first-degree murder and related offenses, a press release states. Both men are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Police say that McCoy and Dukes followed the 19-year-old male victim into an alley in the 1100 block of Pelham Wood Road in Parkville and while in the alley, McCoy produced a handgun and shot the victim several times. Investigators believe that the shooting was the result of a dispute between the suspects and the victim.

Police received a call at 12:20 p.m. on Monday about an assault in progress with multiple shots being fired Precinct 6 commander, Capt. Jay Landsman Jr., said on Monday.

The victim was treated at an area hospital and is expected to survive.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.

Rich Reiser, 29, who has lived on the block where the shooting was reported for four years, said he can't remember a similar incident.

"It's a quiet, nice neighborhood," Reiser said on Monday. "This particular street is really nice."

He was in his basement when the incident occurred and didn't hear any shots, he said. Later, he learned from police a bullet casing was found in his backyard.
