Police: Man steals $8,000 necklace from Eastpoint Mall

Man runs off with $8,000 necklace at Eastpoint Mall, police say

A man ran out of a jewelry store at the Eastpoint Mall with an $8,000 necklace, said Baltimore County police, who released surveillance footage Friday of the incident.

The theft happened just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Elite Gold and Diamonds, police said. A man asked a store employee to see the gold necklace, and put it around his neck when the worker handed it to him.

The man ran out of the store, and an employee chased him onto the parking lot, police said. The suspect got into a silver Honda Accord.

The employee told police he was standing between 50 and 75 feet from the car when someone inside it pointed what he thought was a gun at him. The car drove off on Eastern Avenue toward Essex.

Anyone with information may call the Dundalk precinct at 410-887-7320 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
