Woman, 46, fatally shot in South Baltimore's Brooklyn neighborhood Wednesday, police say

Separate shootings left a woman dead and a man wounded early Wednesday morning in Baltimore, police said.

Officers responded about 5:18 a.m. to the 3700 block of W. 5th St. in South Baltimore’s Brooklyn neighborhood, where they found a 46-year-old woman who had been shot, police said.

She was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Earlier Wednesday, at about 3:29 a.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Greenmount Ave., police said, where they found a 28-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, police said.

Details on his condition were not available.
