Baltimore police: 2 killed, another injured in shootings Sunday

One man was killed and another was injured in two shootings Sunday night, Baltimore police said.

Police said a 29-year-old man died at an area hospital after he was shot around 9:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of Boyd Street in Southwest Baltimore.

About an hour later, police were called to the 3600 block of Ellerslie Avenue for a shooting. Police said a 35 year-old man was shot in the arm. He told police after he was shot, he ran from the area and found an officer on Greenmount Avenue.

The police department on Monday also identified several recent homicide victims.

Darone Johnson, 27, was shot n the 3400 block of Auchentoroly Terrace on Sunday. Police said Johnson and a women were in a vehicle, waiting a stoplight, when two suspects parked nearby got out of their vehicle and opened fire on them. The woman, also 27, had non life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said Marco Byrd, 26, was killed on Friday in the 600 block of Duncan Street in East Baltimore.

Before Byrd’s death, the city went an entire week without a homicide.

Donnell Eugene Candy Jr., 29, was fatally shot on January 12 in the 1600 block of West North Avenue. Barry Henderson, 26, was killed in a shooting the same day, in the 2900 block of Mosher Street.
