A man was shot in a downtown club and a teen was shot playing basketball, Baltimore police said.

A man was shot inside a nightclub in downtown Baltimore and a 15-year-old boy was shot playing basketball in separate incidents early Monday, police said.

Around 1:25 a.m., police saw people running out of Club Paparazzi in the 400 block of E. Saratoga St., near City Hall. Officers stopped some of the patrons, who told them shots had been fired inside the club.

Police didn't find a shooting victim in the club, but a 26-year-old man later went to the emergency room at Johns Hopkins Hospital for a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and told police he had been shot inside the club. The man is in serious but stable condition, according to police.

Police had no information on a suspect or motive in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call (410) 396-2221 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

In a separate incident around 12:30 a.m., police found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his lower back in the 800 block of Saratoga St. Police said he was stable at a local hospital.

The boy was playing basketball with several other people when they were approached by gunmen who began shooting into the crowd, police said. Police have not identified suspects or a motive.

On Monday, police also identified a recent homicide victim. Tony Thornton, 38, was killed Aug. 5 in the 500 block of E. 26th St.

A 29-year-old man was also shot in the 1900 block of Orleans St. around 12:45 p.m. Police were in the block investigating another case when the victim, who had just been shot in the back, approached them seeking help. The man was taken to a hospital, but no suspect was apprehended.
