A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in South Baltimore on Monday afternoon, according to Baltimore Police.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of W. Patapsco Ave., near the county line in the city’s Lakeland neighborhood, about 12:35 p.m. and found the man suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and torso, police said.
He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said witnesses told detectives that “an unknown gunman approached the victim on foot and began shooting him.”
The man is the sixth homicide victim in Baltimore in 2018.

Also on Monday, police identified three other victims from this year.
Robert Moore, 50, of the 500 block of Richwood Ave., was fatally shot in the same block on Jan. 2, police said.
Michael Rogers, 31, of Owings Mills, was fatally shot in the 2000 block of Linden Ave. on Jan. 3, police said.
Calvin Phillips, 22, of the 6100 block of Macbeth Drive, was fatally shot in the same block on Jan. 6, police said.
