One fatally stabbed, three shot in Baltimore overnight

City police say a man was fatally stabbed, and three others were shot in separate incidents overnight Friday.

The stabbing occurred at about 12:15 a.m. in the 400 block of N. Montford Ave., in the McElderry Park neighborhood in Southeast Baltimore. Police say the victim and his attacker were arguing, when the victim was stabbed in the chest with a knife. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 12:45 a.m.

Homicide detectives were interviewing a "person of interest," police said.

As of Saturday morning, 145 people have been killed in Baltimore this year, compared with 132 at the same time last year, an increase of about 10 percent.

The shootings occurred on the city's west side. At about 11:22 p.m., an unidentified victim told police he was walking in the unit block of N. Bentalou St., in the Penrose/Fayette Outreach neighborhood, when he was approached by a suspect who fired a weapon and fled on a bicycle.

The victim was shot in the leg. Western District detectives were investigating, and anyone with information was asked to call 410-396-2477.

Then at about 3 a.m., two males were shot in the 3100 block of Oakford Ave. in the Park Heights area. One victim was shot in the right leg, and the second was struck in the right arm.

Anyone with information was asked to call Northwest District detectives at 410-396-2466.
