Police identify Mass. man stabbed to death in Fells Point marina

A 31-year-old Massachusetts man was fatally stabbed early Thursday at a marina in Fells Point, according to police and a city councilman. Police said a suspect, a 43-year-old Odenton man, was in custody.

Police identified the victim as Osher Perez and the suspect as Raymond Mundy. The killing happened around 2:30 a.m. off the 2100 block of Aliceanna St., after an argument between the two, Perez’s friends told police.

According to charging documents, Perez’s friends told police they were with him in a red, two-door Ford Mustang at the intersection of Aliceanna and S. Washington streets when the suspect approached. They said Perez rolled down the window as the man walked up to the driver’s side of the car, then swore at Perez and lunged, punching him in the face and body. Perez drove off, realizing that he was bleeding and must have been stabbed, his friends said.

He pulled over in the 2400 block of Boston St., where a patrol officer found them with their emergency lights on, police said. Perez was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died just before 4 a.m., police said.

A motive for the killing was not identified by police. Mundy, of the 1300 block of Huntover Dr., was identified in a lineup by witnesses and arrested Thursday in the 2000 block of Aliceanna St. He faces charges of first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, police said.

The Baltimore Police Homicide unit is investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.

The killing had "nothing to do with the area," Councilman James Kraft said. "They ancitipate the case being closed rather quickly."
