This roundup of crime briefs from around the area isn't meant to be a comprehensive compilation of Maryland crime news, but a snapshot of some of the newsworthy incidents from across our region.

Here's a look at some of the crime that's happened recently in our coverage area:

A pair of twins is charged with robbing a bank in Severna Park, police said.

Police said a man was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday after accepting a ride from strangers in Annapolis.

A 26-year-old man is charged with burning down a house and returning to take pictures in front of it.

A man was arrested in a case in which wheels and tires were stolen from a Finksburg business.

Police made more than 20 arrests during a warrant sweep.

HOWARD COUNTY Police are investigating three robberies in East Columbia. A 16-year-old was charged as an adult after firing a gun on a footpath, leading to a brief lockdown of nearby schools. ELSEWHEREA Hagerstown man is facing arson-related charges after police say he set a mattress on fire while his 2-year-old child was at home and five residents were in an adjoining apartment.

Police seek the driver of a vehicle that fled after it struck and killed a Camp David guard who was aiding another motorist. 

A woman has been arrested after police say she doused her boyfriend with bleach and rubbing alcohol and then set him on fire.
