No. 2: Kinyua accused in cannibalism case

Alexander Kinyua was charged with killing a family friend in their Harford County home and eating his organs. The disturbing story came just days after a Miami cannibalism case had made national news. Though the killing didn't take place anywhere near Morgan's campus, the actions of school officials were questioned when The Sun revealed that a professor had described Kinyua as a "Virginia Tech waiting to happen" and that he later attacked another student with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. Morgan would be in the news again for crime, with two campus shooting rattling students. Kinyua pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible in December to the beating of the fellow student. Accepting the plea, a judge said he had been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. The case of the Harford killing could go forward early next year.
