Seven men — two of whom are from Carroll County — were arrested in relation to a prostitution sting in Howard County Monday.

Lonnell Brooks, 48, and Thomas Enoff, 44, both of Westminster, were each arrested during an undercover operation that took place Monday, Nov. 26, in Columbia, according to a news release from the Howard County Police Department.

Both Brooks and Enoff were charged with four prostitution-related charges and disorderly conduct, according to electronic court records. Both were released on their own recognizance.

When reached by a reporter, Enoff said he disagreed with the charges and would be fighting them in court.

Brooks declined to comment on the charges.

Officers arrested the “would-be johns” for soliciting prostitution at a hotel in the 8800 block of Columbia 100 Parkway in Columbia, according to police.

As part of the operation, detectives placed fake ads on websites known by detectives to be used for prostitution. Men who called the number in the ad spoke with an undercover female officer who provided a meeting location upon the caller’s request, according to the release.

When the men arrived and offered money for sex acts, they were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution and disorderly conduct, police said.
