For students with a flair for coding, or just a budding curiosity in cybersecurity, there’s still time to register for the fifth Capture the Flag Cybersecurity Competition, an ethical hacking challenge from the Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory, or MAGIC.

High school and college-age students have until noon Wednesday, April 18, to register for this free event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Those with a hacking background are welcome, but no previous experience is necessary to participate in the competition, which will feature a series of cybersecurity puzzles to be solved in a trivia game show format.

More than 100 students are expect to participate from locations around Maryland, but in Carroll County, the event will be held at the Community Media Center at 1301 Washington Road, Westminster.
