Fire Marshal's Office investigating Carroll View Avenue fire

A Westminster fire that caused an estimated $20,000 in damage over the weekend is under investigation.

The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28, according to a notice of investigation from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The blaze happened in a two-story rowhouse in the unit block of Carroll View Avenue.

No one was injured in the fire.

It took some 25 firefighters about 20 minutes to control the fire after it was discovered by a passerby, according to the notice. The Westminster volunteer fire company was the primary responding agency.

The fire began in the front bedroom on the second floor, but the preliminary cause is under investigation, according to the notice. The Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants.
