Paintings by Jim Medvitz will be part of a silent auction at an Oct. 10 gala fundraising event, "Hunger Bites," marking the 30th anniversary of the Assistance Center of Towson Churches, detailed below.
Who: Master of Ceremonies Tom Tasselmyer, WBAL's radio and TV meteorologist, and Assistance Center of Towson Churches' volunteers help to support ACTC's mission of providing emergency supplies of food for hungry people.
"When my friend Pat Phelps asked me to help ACTC celebrate 30 years of supplying emergency needs for people in the Towson area, it was easy to say 'I'll be there,' " said Tasselmyer, a Cockeysville resident and Hunt Valley Presbyterian Church member. "You can't help but think of Jesus reminding us that when we help those who most need it, we're helping him. It's an honor to be invited, and I'm looking forward to the Hunger Bites gala."
When: Saturday, Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Central Presbyterian Church, 7308 York Road, Towson.
