Body found in vacant house identified as missing 17-year-old from Baltimore County

aA body found in a vacant house in South Baltimore last month has been identified as that of a 17-year-old who was reported missing weeks ago.

Baltimore County police said Tuesday that the body was identified this week as Devon P. Ireland, a Baltimore County teen who lived in Timonium.

Baltimore Police had found his body in the vacant house on Washburn Avenue in Brooklyn on June 27, Detective Chakia Fennoy said on Wednesday. Police responded to the vacant house at 10:30 p.m. and Ireland was declared dead at 10:50.

Detective Nicole Monroe said on Tuesday that Ireland had overdosed, but said she did not know what substance he is believed to have used. Monroe said there were no signs of foul play.

County police said the medical examiner’s office is still investigating the cause of death.
