About 25,000 people are expected to flood the city’s streets during Saturday’s annual Baltimore Running Festival. Here are the areas you’ll want to avoid if you aren’t planning to run 26.2 miles this weekend.
The marathon will begin this year at Camden and Paca Streets. There will also be a 5K race, half-marathon, relay race and kids run starting at various times on Saturday morning. Festivities kick off at 7:30 a.m.
The race routes have been modified this year, and will now end at the Inner Harbor’s McKeldin Square.
The city’s department of transportation has warned that traveling inside the race’s footprint will be difficult throughout the day. Motorists should expect significant delays.
The department recommends using roadways north of 33rd Street, south of McComas Street, west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and east of Highland Avenue.
You can plan your route using this interactive road closure map: transportation.baltimorecity.gov.
