Man killed in Pen Lucy, two shot earlier in Cherry Hill

A man was fatally shot Friday night in North Baltimore's Pen Lucy neighborhood, and police were also investigating a double shooting that occurred earlier in the day in Cherry Hill.

The Pen Lucy shooting occurred in the area of Old York Road and Dumbarton Avenue around 8:20 p.m. The victim, whose name and age were not immediately available, died at a local hospital.

About 2 p.m., police were called to the 1000 block of Bethune Road for a shooting and found a 22-year-old man who had been wounded in the shoulder. Less than 20 minutes later, police learned that a second victim from that incident was in the 800 block of Gretna Court in nearby Brooklyn and suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Both were taken to hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not disclosed, but the unit that investigates nonfatal shootings was handling the case, police said.

Anyone with information about the shootings was asked to call the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
