Suspicious package found in lobby of Baltimore municipal building

Baltimore City government building evacuated after suspicious package found.

City employees and members of the public were evacuated from the Abel Wolman Municipal Building Wednesday for about an hour and a half after a suspicious package was found in the lobby, officials said.

Lt. Eric Kowalczyk, police spokesman, said the threat was determined to be unfounded. He declined to provide details of the incident, including details about the package or how it arrived in the building.

Police gave an all clear signal around 12:10 p.m. and people were permitted to return to the building.

The Abel building, which is next to City Hall, houses the Department of Public Works, among city offices.
