Two University of Maryland, Baltimore County, students have been expelled for violating the student code of conduct  after an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of another student in August, school officials have confirmed.

Michele Leonhart, the chief of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, put a spotlight on Maryland’s heroin problems Thursday during a congressional hearing.

Consumer products such as toothpaste and cosmetic scrubs containing tiny “microbeads,” would be banned from store shelves in Maryland after 2018 under a bill approved unanimously by the state Senate Thursday.
