Baltimore man arrested in strong-arm robbery at bingo hall

Robbery at Bingo World in Brooklyn Park, then on-foot pursuit and apprehension.

A Baltimore man on Friday was arrested and charged with robbing a woman at a bingo game hall during the early morning hours in Brooklyn Park, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Officials said that at approximately 1:41 a.m., police responding to a report of a strong-arm robbery at Bingo World on Belle Grove Road discovered that a man had approached a woman at a video game machine, grabbed her by the arm and took money from her. The man then fled through a side door, police said.

Officers and K-9 responded in search of the suspect, who was found at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Belle Grove Road and Ritchie Highway, police said. The man fled, police pursued him on foot and apprehended him in the backyard of a residence on Bristol Avenue in Baltimore City. The victim was brought to the scene and identified the man, who police said is Steven Alphonso Creek, 37, of Baltimore.

Creek has been charged with robbery, second-degree assault, controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession and CDS paraphernalia possession, police said.
