Police seek man who shot clerk with BB gun in 7-Eleven robbery attempt

Anne Arundel County Police are seeking a man they say attempted to rob a Brooklyn convenience store Sunday before shooting the clerk with a BB gun.

The man, described as a thin white man with a goatee wearing a dark jacket with a grey hood, blue pants and brown boots, held up the 7-Eleven in the 4000 block of Ritchie Hwy. in Brooklyn at about 5:08 a.m. Sunday, police said in a news release.

The man allegedly shot the clerk with a BB gun after demanding money, police said. After leaving the store without cash or any other items, he ran toward Belle Grove Road, police said.

Officers and a police K-9 unit responded to search the area but did not find the suspect. The clerk was in stable condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma as of Sunday, police said.
