Police investigating two Christmas Day robberies

Two men were robbed on Christmas Day in Anne Arundel County, and police have arrested a suspect in one of the incidents.

A 58-year-old man returning to his home early Wednesday in the 1600 block of Bluestone Court in Hanover told police that two men approached him as he was getting out of his vehicle. One of the men brandished a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the two men ran off into an older model black sedan. Police responded to the area at about 12:18 a.m. but couldn't find the suspects.

At about 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the unit block of Glen Ridge Road in Glen Burnie for a reported robbery. They found a 23-year-old man who told them that two males had approached him — one implying he had a handgun — and demanded his money. The victim turned over his money and the suspects left.

The victim told police he was familiar with one of the suspects and was able to give them a name and location of where the suspect may have fled. Based on the victim's statements, police arrested Roger Harris, 40, of the 1500 block of Wasena Ave. in Baltimore, and charged him with armed robbery and theft under $1,000, police said.

A second suspect remains outstanding, police said. He is described as an about 5-foot-10-inch black male who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue pants and a black hat.
