Police host Odenton meeting in wake of shooting, injury to 1-year-old

Anne Arundel County Police will hold a community meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, in response to a shooting this week in Odenton that left a 1-year-old girl wounded.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Waugh Chapel Elementary School, 840 Sunflower Drive in Odenton. The meeting will be hosted by Western District Capt. Herbert Hasenpusch, who also will have detectives with him.

On Monday night, someone fired shots into the window of a home in the 600 block of Cadbury Drive in the Chapelgate community.

The bullets shattered a window and the glass cut a 19-month-old girl inside the home. Also home at the time were the girl's seven-month-old sister and 4-year-old sister and their parent.

Police said the incident did not appear to be random. Police said the shooter may have carried a long weapon, and fled in a dark red or maroon Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows.

Police said they have increased their presence in the area.
