Man faces peeping tom charges after police find nude videos, underwear inside Crofton home

A 35-year-old Crofton man faced additional charges Friday after Anne Arundel County Police said they found multiple videos of women changing, as well as a juvenile's pair of underwear inside his home.

Charles Dean Novak of 1600 Fallowfield Court, was arrested and charged Dec. 27, after officers were called to the 1100 block of Fairlawn Court for a burglary where a resident told officers they found Novak sitting inside a car in the attached garage.

Police located Novak who had a camcorder with videos depicting nude and partially nude people who did not appear to be aware they were being recorded.

With a search warrant, police searched Novak's home where they found evidence linking him to burglaries, including videos of a nude young woman who was filmed through the window.

The family identified the girl in the video. During a search of Novak's home, police found the girl's underwear in a plastic bag, marked with her name. Through interviews with the family, police determined Novak had been inside their home without permission.

Inside Novak's home, police also found evidence of another victim in the 1800 block of Crofton Parkway, who identified herself in two videos where she was nude or partially nude.

The videos were filmed through a window from an enclosed sunroom. The woman told police she didn't allow Novak to film her or allow him into the home.

Novak faces 21 counts of burglary, theft, peeping tom, and related charges. He is being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
