Spring sanctuary Spring Break in the Park will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jug Bay Wetland Sanctuary, 1361 Wrighton Road, Lothian. Explore the sanctuary with naturalist Heather Baden. Participants will hike to a vernal pool to search for amphibian eggs, tadpoles and salamander larvae. A scavenger hunt, nature craft, and roasting marshmallows over a campfire will be included. Triathlon The eighth annual Emily Schindler Memorial Triathlon will be held Saturday, April 26 at the Community Center in Severna Park. The 800-yard swim, 9.5-mile bike and 3-mile run will be held at the SPY Aquatics Center, 623 Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd., and the Baltimore/Annapolis Trail. Interested persons can also sign up for the Flamingo Feat distance of a 1,600-yard swim, 18-mile bike and 6-mile run. Check-in time is 6 a.m. and the first wave of swimmers starts at 7 a.m. Registration fee is $50 for an individual, $90 for a two-person relay team and $135 for a three-person relay team. Flower mart The Four Rivers Garden Club will hold its annual Flower Mart from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 30 at the Market House in downtown Annapolis. An assortment of native plants and perennials from members' gardens as well as cut flowers and attic treasures will be offered for sale. Club members will fashion May baskets from cut flowers and offer expert advice on flower arranging for the novice. Flower-arranging workshops are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cost is $25-$35. Health care Congregation Kneseth Israel will host a panel discussion about critical ethical issues in medical care 10 a.m. Sunday, May 4 at 1125 Spa Road in Annapolis.
